What I learned about my issue and about invention tonight?

So, I think I'm leaning more towards the composing process through digital media.
I think this topic is much broader, so I'll be able the question in a "Thesis" form.
THis is because the topic is less definite, and allows me some room to move around with it.
I'll possible be able to zero in on it within the coming weeks and decide if the topic needs either
a "theoretical" or "practical" approach.  As of now, I'm leaning more towards the theoretical approach.
This is because the question feels more like a question of knowledge, rather than a question of action....
Time to stop writing.

  1. As a teacher all I can say is "Yee-hah!" in response to this post.

That you can make the distinctions you do about your coming writing -- that you think this will be a more theoretical paper -- sets you up to do more focused work as you proceed on this paper, Stuart.

Being able to make this distinction might seem trivial to you, but -- as a long time teacher of writing -- I can tell you that being able to make such fundamental distinctions truly helps writers. Such fundamental distinctions helps writers focus the research and further thinking they need to do but also helps writers figure out how to shape the writing they need to do. A theoretic paper has its own particular possible arrangements and tones and evidence -- and you are now in much better position to go about making all that happen.

So I would say that our inventional practice in class was highly useful -- and I hope you can see that, too!
